Thanksgiving in Maine

This year was our third year at my dad and Betty's for Thanksgiving. We put a different spin on it though. We usually drive up to Maine the morning of T-day to make it in time for dinner. After being exhausted from the trip we eat and lounge the rest of the day. This year we went up the week before. Great idea. We had so much fun with Dad and Betty and Gigi, Auntie Barb, Kaitlynn, and Rachel. Kaitlynn's boyfriend, John even got to come. Great time. Hopefully everyone makes it up next year.

Visit to Eben & Johanna's in Niantic

We went to see our friends in Connecticut. Jazelle and Edison got some racing time in. Although super cute Edison is younger, he showed Jazelle how he works out. Jazelle thinks working out is for boys anyway.

This blogging isn't exactly working the way I would like. I have been trying to post without long blocks of space. I doesn't always work though. I will continue to post if you will continue to tolerate the spaces while I figure it all out or get a new computer.

Fall Festival

Bradlee Shopping Center had the fall festival to promote business. Xavier, Jazelle and I made a scarecrow. We ate at Xav's favorite eatery, McDonalds, then took the scarecrow home for the chipmunks and the squirrels. He didn't make it far with his eyes and mouth but he survived a dusting. Finally the Alexandria sanitation department took him away.

I came home from work on the 23rd of October and the kids were very happy and playful. Jay and I took turns getting our picture taken with them.

Jazelle Playing

This was October 19th. I don't have much time to upload images off my camera.
Jazelle found the barn and thought the turkey was tasty.

Xavier was Mr. Incredible for Halloween. We did get some wear out of this costume. He went to a Trunk or Treat a week before halloween and really raked in the candy. We were on the cruise ship for halloween and several people gave him candy. Most people thought he was Superman. Xavier's reponse was "My not Superman, My Mr. Incredible." I can't get him to say I unless it is eye. Jazelle was a chicken. We forgot the camera and camcorder so we have no pictures of it. I have the costume clean so I might get a picture of her in just to have. Xavier is very into his legos. He has several of the "Coast Guard" lego sets. Hope everyone had a good Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Hollow Sceam Busch Gardens 2008

The weekend of October 10th we decided to go to Busch Gardens with Erica, Brandon and Emily. We had a great time. On Friday night we went to their high school homecoming football game. Saturday we rode the rides, saw the shows and walked the park. The train ride happens at night so we had to stick it out until the lights came on. Anyway, here are our pictures.

Bath Time

Although the kiddos tend to take showers in the morning, this night I had the time to put them both in the bath. I don't know why I don't put them in the tub rather than giving them a shower. They have so much fun together. Jazelle tends to chew on the toys and Xavier likes to dump water on her head or drink the water.

Welcome!

I should let you know that I am in over my head. I wonder how all the mom's that do this are so organized. I would hope to be better if only I wasn't working. Unfortunately I am working so bear with me. All of you remember when I first started emailing photos. This is just one of those things I will be better at with time and practice.

Erin's & Charles Wedding Ithaca, NY

Robert H Treman State Park Ithaca, NY

Our family vacation this year was to my cousin Erin's wedding in Ithaca NY. Opa was very good hauling kids through the gorge at Robert Treman State Park. Erin and Charles were great tour guides. There were two groups of us that went on the hike. The first group there were 20 or more of us and the second group made it through before we left the parking lot. I know you have seen t-shirts saying Ithaca is gorges. Well I saw one. I was in one. Here are some of the pictures I took.

Baby girl & Aunt Shirley

Right before we started this hike I asked Charles if we should bring our double stroller. He told me there were a few steps. I decided against the stroller. A good thing too. My dad went back to try and catch the second group of hikers before the climbed the steps. Of course he counted them so he could pass the information. 200+

It makes me laugh to see Mr. Nature carrying Princess Pants while connecting with his peeps via cell in the middle of a gorge. This is a definate opportunity.

Xavier and Jazelle were bright eyed Thursday morning before school so I decided to try for a good picture.
